About This Brand
LG recently introduced a model with a door that swings upward and is introducing a model with a keep-warm feature--new to the market--and bottom controls. It was LG that introduced the glide tray, which moves from side to side instead of in a circle--good for rectangular dishes--and also hidden vents. LG also introduced the blue interior cavity in its products. The microwaves are available for $300 to $800 at Home Depot, Sears, and large regional and independent dealers.

Watts This is the manufacturer's figure of the microwave power output. In general, the more watts an oven offers, the greater its cooking power-and the faster your food will be cooked. That said, differences in claimed wattage of 100 watts or less are unlikely to result in significant differences in performance.

Convection mode A few microwaves include a convection oven feature, which has a heating element and a fan that distributes heat. In convection mode, you can set the oven temperature as you would in a traditional oven to bake or roast items.

Stainless/SS-look option Stainless-steel is stylish, but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
Looks like other comments that 2 years is the max for this unit. Heating capacity went out ra]ight at 2 years. Told it could be a diode or fuse but who wants to spend more on something that already appears to be on the down hill side. Luckly, We still have our old Sharp carousel coumtertop MW at the office to bring home.

Comment:
we use it mostly for rewarming, cooking popcorn. Have owned it for two years, then one day it starts makine a loud humming noise, the next day it stops heating and gives off a burning smell. I'm disapointed by the short life of this microwave oven. Will not buy another LG oven. Do not buy this microwave oven you will be disapointed.

Comment:
Had the unit about 2 years. Used mostly for re-heating, defrosting and as light and kitchen timer. Used the light and vent features one day. Had not used the heating function at all. When I opened the unit the next morning the glass tray and the plastic ring it rotates on had melted through and the glass tray had cracked. The unit must have over heated or a fire had started due to an electical short. Fortunately, it did not spread. It was out of warranty and it does not make sense to repair these units. I also did not want this unit in my house after it caught on fire. Worse kitchen appliance I have ever owned. Has put me off entirely to the brand.
