My Kitchenaid Stand Mixer broke and we purchased this in an emergency since I was in the middle of baking for a crowd. I used it about 2 times per week for a month and last week, something broke and the beaters quit turning. It sounds like a piece of platic rattling in the housing. I will be sending it back to the manufacturer.

There is no low speed. My grandsons and I often make cookies together, and there is no way they could use this supersonic speed mixer with me. Plus, unless I am using a very deep bowl, it throws ingredients all over the counter. It was a gift, and I'm glad it was relatively inexpensive, since I'm going to have to replace it.

I wouldn't recommend this hand mixer. The beaters are non functioning. They started to rust after 2 washes in the dishwasher. Then they fell apart due to the rust.(Same thing happened to my daughters beaters) Plus the beaters are just 4 thin wires instead of the traditional flat blades. I found that the wires couldn't break up the flour in a simple cake mix, so that you still had tiny lumps. I miss having a true LOW speed for just blending ingredients. All you get is fast and faster! It does whip up egg whites and whip cream very quickly.
