About - Jenn-Air JGRP430WP

The Jenn-Air JGRP430WP is part of the range test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, pro-style range models like the JGRP430WP are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful element could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3 quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the ability of the lowest power element to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful element to its lowest setting to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

This reflects the evenness of cookies and cakes in multi-rack baking tests.

Jenn Air Does Help
Oil Stains The Stainless
Stainless scratches
Best Uses
Range works average but the stainless top scratches VERY easily and oil stains the stainless it so clean up is compromised. This is the second Jenn Air we have had and I wish we had learned with our first one that they are inferior in so many ways. No help from the manufacturer or where we purchased. This looks old and have only had it 9 months. Warranty won't cover any of these problems. RUN THE OTHER WAY! We needed a downdraft but would have been money ahead just putting in a new venting system and never buying Jenn Air!

Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks great, performs better
Dry Heat Even Gas Oven
Cooling Fan Blows Hot Air
Best Uses
Fantastic range and oven, looks sleek and modern and minimalistic. Performs perfectly.

Minor complaint is that while the oven does vent out the back, it also blows cooling fans above the oven door, meaning while baking/roasting something and using the stove, you will get quite warm. Will be fine in winter, probably unusable in July/August.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Easy To Keep Clean
Easy To Clean Burner Area
Controls Can Be Confusing
Best Uses
I have a slightly different version of the same range (downdraft), but the feature it shares is the glass top. We were reluctant to get a gas stove because so many are difficult to keep clean--too many small areas to clean. This glass surface cleans right up with low abrasive glass stove top cleaner.

Of the four Jenn-Aire products we bought, I like the stove by far the best. It cooks very well. I don't do much baking, but what I do it has also handled (and the oven has stayed very clean--I've yet to have a need to clean it).
