Comment:
Used in a smallish kitchen for a family of three. Our first french door, bottom freezer model. We also moved the side x side that this replaced to the garage as a second. We're really enjoying the layout and storage capacity of this unit. Doors can be a little difficult to close and the ice-maker seems to be a little slow, even when in the accelerated mode. Other than that, all is positive. One reason we chose this model was for the internal water and ice dispensing. Not missing the door dispensers at all.
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
This unit replaced three (3) other Kenmore's which were the 22.4 cu. ft. single door bottom freezer model. They all including this one had the same problem that the freezer does not defrost. Within a short time I had ice and frost all over the back wall and wire racks and it looked like it had snowed on the top ice drawer. The 7200 is not as bad as the other but still has the same problem. Be aware that both of these units are made for Kenmore by LG so the similar ones under the LG label may have the same defect. I bought these through [@] and the good news is that they have been great at trying to fix and in replacing with new boxes. The 7200 is going back and I'm going to try Whirlpool which seems to have a better rating and performance rating.

A month or less
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I have a 2 people family and a small kitchen. I have always had a top-freezer refrigerator. I chose to buy this refrigerator because my old one was not working well, it would fit into the space available (33 inch width)and could be moved to the other side of the kitchen when/if I remodel the kitchen. In many ways I am very happy with it. My food stays fresh for a long time, it seems to maintain an even temoperature, things are easily accessible in the refrigerator section, although the top shelf in the refrigerator might be a little high for a short person (I am not short). The cons that I find are that the ice falls out of the box into the compartment and it is difficult to get out, the freezer looks huge, but it holds no more than my previous top freezer.
The main design flaws are:
(1) the ice water outlet inside the refrigerator is awkward to use and take two hands to dispense the water into a glass. I have not tried to dispense it into a pitcher, but I suspect it might be difficult.
(2) to get to the the ice dispenser you have to pull out the drawer and then pull out a rack to get ice.
(3) The main drawer in the freezer is solid on the bottom with a wire basket on the sides. Very small items could fall out and cold air also flows out from the sides.
It I were to buy a new refrigerator without having had the need to replace the old one, I think I would have bought a top freezer: its a lot cheaper, and holds the same amount of food. However, if you want the look of this refrigerator, it works very well.
