About - LG LDC22720[SW]

The LG LDC22720[SW] is part of the refrigerator test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, bottom freezer refrigerator models like the LDC22720[SW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Temperature performance:
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.

Energy efficiency:
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two models with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.

Noise:
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Comment:
I bought this refidge about a year and half ago.I have had nothing but problems with it.The freezer keeps building ice frost all over the condenser and then the whole unit won't work.It is very, very noisy and when i called their customer service line they told me that the noise was normal I said WHAT,I have had Kenmore refridges in the past and never had these kind of problems. This refidge is junk and i will never buy a LG brand again.

Ice maker is total junk

Cons
Bad Ice Maker

Comment:
Simply stated - this is a piece of cheaply designed, ergonomically faulty JUNK! The ice maker has never worked properly; water leaks and unless ice is used immediately, ice cubes freeze together in one giant cube. Cleaning the ice maker solves the issue for a week or so. The ice cube tray full level always gets jammed on the tray. I will NEVER BUY LG AGAIN. 18 months later, warranty expired, service rude and already time to replace this piece of junk. Definitely not to American standards. Perfect for the Third World.

Cons

Comment:
I like most things about it, except when someone doesn't close the freezer all the way, it builds up so much water (under the drawer in the back) that freezes and then that ice blocks you from closing it all the way and the ice gets bigger and you really can't close it... There is a very discreet little beep when it isn't closed all the way, but maybe it needs to be louder!<br />I remember the days when people had fridges for 20 years. I don't expect that to happen, despite the prices...
