About - LG LFC25776[SW]

The LG LFC25776[SW] is part of the refrigerator test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, bottom freezer refrigerator models like the LFC25776[SW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Temperature performance:
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.

Energy efficiency:
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two models with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.

Noise:
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Comment:
Love the design of this unit. It's maxed out for room and seems to just swallow up everything that I throw at it. It even accomadates the large 'restaurant sized' stainless steam table pans I bake in (easily) on one shelf. I want all the room I can get so choose the ice maker design in the bottom of the unit as opposed to the door. It didn't work when it came but was easily replaced and now just cranks out ice. The unit has great lighting (nice bright white led) and is designed so that I can fit things into the corners and even stack things. The stainless finish is so beautiful and clean looking, like some material from another planet. I didn't see that quality of stainless from other manufacturers. It cost about 3 times the price of my old unit but is so much better that you almost can't compare that. Did I mention that it's quiet and for the first time in my life, I don't hear a fridge buzzing in other rooms in my house? Can't say enough about how pleased I have been and if the ice maker holds out now and doesn't go south, it's icing on the cake. I love this unit!

Comment:
We spent months researching refrigerators and picked this one. There's only one thing that this refrigerator doesn't have that would make it perfect, one slide-in shelf for tall items. The shelves, otherwise, are very well done. We don't miss
having an ice and water dispenser at all, and there's a lot more door space without it. And the ice maker in the freezer produces a lot more ice than a dispenser in the door would, anyway. The refrigerator looks great and is very quiet. We bought this refrigerator just over three months ago and are very happy with it. In fact, we like it so much that when we decided to move to another state, we bought the very same refrigerator for our new house, even though there's room for a larger one.

Comment:
Ice maker is cheaply made and broke within 11 months. I called LG once to schedule warranty service, but have not heard back yet.

Otherwise I like the looks and function of the refrigerator.
