The LG LFX25991[ST] is part of the refrigerator
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, bottom freezer refrigerator
models like the LFX25991[ST] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two models with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.
About This Brand
LG, a leader in the bottom-freezer, will be introducing a four-door French-door and more LED lights throughout its refrigerators as well as taller integrated dispensers and a new 33-inch model with ice and water dispenser.
Claimed capacity (cu. ft.) Claimed capacity is the manufacturer's estimate of the volume, in cubic feet, of interior space.
Claimed capacity (cu. ft.)
Cabinet-depth model Cabinet-depth models usually measure 27 to 28 inches deep, not quite flush with the cabinets, but at least three inches shallower than many standard 36-inch-wide models. You can get models with stainless exteriors or panel kits.
French-door style French door models are bottom-freezer refrigerators whose upper compartments have two narrow doors that open similarly to the doors of a side-by-side refrigerator. These narrower doors use less space in front of the refrigerator when opened, and allow access to either or both sides of the full-width fresh-food compartment. Typically more expensive, French-door models are usually 36 inches wide, though some newer models are 33 inches wide.
Water dispenser It is normally located in the fresh food compartment.
Stainless/SS-look option Stainless steel is stylish but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
We purchased this LG LFX25991ST 25 days ago and the freezer is already out! I opened the freezer door and there was condensation everywhere. The food that was still frozen had formed ice crystals all over the outside of the food items. The refrigerator also has condensation all over the inside of the doors. I spent 2 hours on the phone with LG customer support. They referred me to 4 different applaice repair companies NONE of which serviced my area. LG Customer service said it would take 3-5 days for someone to locate a business that could service my freezer. WHAT A JOKE! I abandoned LG's customer service and called HH Gregg. Since the appliance is less than 30 days old I can exchange it for another LG or something comparable in value. After reading these reviews I think I'll call HH Gregg back and get something else. This has not been a good experience at all.

Will Never Buy LG Again
Holds Temperature Well
Bad Ice Maker
Poor customer service
Rust Spots Next To Panel
Stores Do Not Carry Filte
The icemaker on this refrigerator makes it a total nightmare!! It clogs up when we don't use it enough, and when we have company it clogs because the doors are open too much. When we unclog it we get water all over the place. The stainless steel has developed a rust spot next to the panel from dribbling water. When I called LG they said we would be charged for a visit because our use caused the problem. Will never buy LG anything again!

Quiet And Easy Access
Purchased this Frigerator in Jan 19 2013. Came home from Vacation on Aug 16, 2013 found the Frig and freezer Not working and all food went bad. (The Unit was not even 7 months old) I called LG and they Set up an appointment with Action Repair to fix the unit. Action Repair Called LG for the part and LG said the part is on back order and wouldnt arrive for at least 4 WEEKS. I called LG main office and LG customer Service as 4 weeks was unacceptable with out a refrigerator and they said I would just have to wait for the part to arrive. All I wanted was an exchange. BUYER BEWARE! I called every possible company number listed for them and they either never return my calls or said there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait. I would never buy another LG Product.
