About - Samsung RF4267HA[WP]

The Samsung RF4267HA[WP] is part of the refrigerator test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, bottom freezer refrigerator models like the RF4267HA[WP] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Temperature performance:
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.

Energy efficiency:
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two models with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.

Noise:
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Comment:
Samsung does no have their own repair service, they use A&E Repair. Consumer Affairs has 257 complaints about their performance. My fridge has been down 3 weeks with the third service call coming in three days. We had to buy a small fridge to use while the Samsung is in the process of being repaired (?). I'm looking onto our state lemon law but not too hopeful. We'll never burchase another Samsung product.

Don't Buy Samsung
Comment:
I have two of these. One is great, the other not so much. Samsung fridges are prone to freeze up problems that will cause months of aggravation trying to get it fixed. Research this online before you buy one, there are LOTS of complaints about it. Samsung customer service is horrible. My support case has been a comedy of errors, I am without my fridge for over 18 days now with no fix in sight.

Comment:
I like the French doors because all of the frequently used items are at eye level and the less often accessed freezer is at the bottom. When the doors are open, the door sill can be used as a surface to set things down temporarily - an unexpected feature. We use the handy center drawer for snacks, cheeses, and small items that could get lost in the main fridge. It maintains a steady cold temperature in the fridge and capacious, easy-access freezer. In the freezer, I like the compartment along the front of the drawer for small items. in the main fridge there are no slide-out shelves, though the shelves are relatively shallow so this is not a major problem. The ice and water dispenser often sprays water and ice outside of the target container, and bits of ice also eject on to the floor, although after a few months I am getting the hang of it and am better at aiming my drinking glass or pitcher under the dispenser. Wnen the compressor kicks in, it is a bit louder than our previous GE fridge, but not annoyingly so, and we found that most of the noise was caused by the vibration of beverage bottles we had stored on top of the refrigerator.
