Comment:
Engineering flaw,as per Sears own repairman, allows for ice build up in the back of the freezer compartment. I have owned this product for 3 years and now rather than call a repairman, I remove all of the baskets from the freezer, and defrost the build up in the back at least 1-2 times a year. This is a real pain in the backside. The repairman said he has to do this all the time on this model. My friend bought one about a year after I did and she is experiencing the same thing.

Comment:
We have been very disappointed with the internal layout of the top section. But our biggest complaint is that in the last two years we have owned this refridgerator, both of the plastic hooks that help keep the french doors closed have broken off. And it's not like we have teenagers in the house. We came back from a few days away recently to find one of the doors partially open and the internal temp at around 60 degrees. I will NEVER buy a large Kenmore product again!

Comment:
When the fridge was delivered I was told not to adjust the temperature for a week--I haven't touched the temp and have had no problems. I deliberately selected a fridge without an ice/water dispenser on the door--everything I have read sounds like that is the kiss of death for a refrigerator! Hopefully this one will be a workhorse for many years!
How long have you owned it:
A month or less
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
