Comment:
We have been very disappointed with the internal layout of the top section. But our biggest complaint is that in the last two years we have owned this refridgerator, both of the plastic hooks that help keep the french doors closed have broken off. And it's not like we have teenagers in the house. We came back from a few days away recently to find one of the doors partially open and the internal temp at around 60 degrees. I will NEVER buy a large Kenmore product again!

Comment:
When the fridge was delivered I was told not to adjust the temperature for a week--I haven't touched the temp and have had no problems. I deliberately selected a fridge without an ice/water dispenser on the door--everything I have read sounds like that is the kiss of death for a refrigerator! Hopefully this one will be a workhorse for many years!

Comment:
After reviewing comments about a number of top-CU-rated units, I concluded 1) current production refrigerators probably won't be as long-lived as previous less efficient refrigerators, 2) ice makers are not only unreliable, but introduce an additional risk of structure damage because they are connected to a water supply subject to leakage (I'm leaving it disconnected), 3) CU has conducted extensive objective testing and derived ratings based thereon, while user reviews are often too subjective to be usable for decision-making. I decided on this model because of its high rating, its efficiency, and the absence of door dispensers. I am satisfied with the purchase.
