i wish i would have seen these reviews before purchasing this refrigerator. i own it a little over two years. i've already had the fan replaced once--right after the warranty expired, of course. now it's making the same noise it did the first time the fan went out, and i keep getting the same ER F1 error message, which tells me the fan is on its way out again. definitely a design flaw. sadly, kenmore, you are no longer what you once were, and i'm not likely to ever purchase another sears/kenmore product after this experience. by the way, i didn't even want to give this refrigerator one star, but had to in order to leave this review.

Four service calls and still have a refrigerator nightmare. The noise is overwhelming. This refrigerator should definitely be recalled. CR needs to review this refrigerator again. I'm ready to take it to the dump and lose my $2600 investment. A new compressor, fan and other repairs haven't solved the problem. Sears refuses to respond to concerns. Stay away from it!!! After months of noise mine quit working Thanksgiving Day. Even with a warranty it took a week to get a service call. Response from Sears was for me to buy some dry ice, ask a neighbor to store my food, or go rent a refrigerator. Needless to say I'm done with both Sears and Kenmore products.

Comment:
Broken down for the second time in 14 months. First it was one fan, now it's another. It has frozen over the vents and fan in the freezer and the fridge is too warm to store food. This is absolutely a product defect issue and you can find examples all over the web documenting the horror stories with this model. Way overrated by CR. Should be recalled by Sears.
