Initially getting the hang of the temperature settings was confusing, but we've figured it out.

If you've never owned a bottom-freezer model, be aware that it takes some getting used to. Even though this model has a pretty well laid-out freezer, changing from a top-freezer to a bottom freezer can be hard on your back at first, what with bending over to rummage through your frozen foods.

The only real problem seems to be with the deli drawer, which has a gap in the back that allows items to fall behind it and interfere with the drawer's movements. Be careful not to just shove stuff into the deli drawer or it will overflow behind and you'll have to take out the drawer to retrieve the items. Also, the glides on the deli drawer seem loose and it's easy for the drawer to get cocked at an angle, requiring entirely too much fussing to get it back in the tracks (hint: PUSHING the drawer in gently each time before opening it seems to straighten it out if the last person was careless pushing it in). The rollers seem loose to me, which may be part of the problem. One curiosity I found behind the deli drawer is an object that appears to be a light but doesn't light up (some kind of sensor?). The crisper drawers seem to glide just fine.

This model is made in Korea by LG, and the build quality seems quite good, though the compressor is very noisy (loud buzzing at times). A few design tweaks (mainly the deli drawer) would improve it.

i wish i would have seen these reviews before purchasing this refrigerator. i own it a little over two years. i've already had the fan replaced once--right after the warranty expired, of course. now it's making the same noise it did the first time the fan went out, and i keep getting the same ER F1 error message, which tells me the fan is on its way out again. definitely a design flaw. sadly, kenmore, you are no longer what you once were, and i'm not likely to ever purchase another sears/kenmore product after this experience. by the way, i didn't even want to give this refrigerator one star, but had to in order to leave this review.

Four service calls and still have a refrigerator nightmare. The noise is overwhelming. This refrigerator should definitely be recalled. CR needs to review this refrigerator again. I'm ready to take it to the dump and lose my $2600 investment. A new compressor, fan and other repairs haven't solved the problem. Sears refuses to respond to concerns. Stay away from it!!! After months of noise mine quit working Thanksgiving Day. Even with a warranty it took a week to get a service call. Response from Sears was for me to buy some dry ice, ask a neighbor to store my food, or go rent a refrigerator. Needless to say I'm done with both Sears and Kenmore products.
