We have had this refrigerator for about a year and a half. We had five service calls for the same thing in the first month(defrost cycle causing fan to freeze up)and ice and water stops working.(LG refused to replace the refrigerator as stated in their warranty). The refrigerator frequently makes loud banging noises. We periodically get an Error Code on the front panel that indicates the freezer defrost fan has frozen up. This causes the ice maker and the ice and water dispenser to stop working. However the error code disappear before a service person can get here.

Bought this fridge in 11/11. One year two months later the warranty ran out, the water dispenser was running like a poltergist, off and on at random, on my hard wood floor. Then the fan for the freezer started making a rattling sound so we replaced that. Now the error symbols coming on so the ice maker is not working. We have to replace another fan. The customer web site was not helpful and rejected my review as not meeting their criteria. LG did not like the one star I gave their product. Purchase a service manual if you are a handy person. Otherwise put your refidgerator repairman on speed dial. Leave all magnets off the beautiful stainless steel or prepare for scratches that remind you everytime you look at it why you should've steered clear of this thing. Too bad I found out later that LG settled a class-action lawsuit addressing these problems and others, but keep selling a defective product. Now there is no liability. Keep tools ready.

I have this refig for 1 year and a half. HATE IT!!! The freezer motor freezes up and I had to replace the motor in Jan. Repair man just left and said this will continue to happen, because LG removed the heating unit. I loved the look of the refrigerator and purchased the oven, microwave and dishwasher (All LG) I Wish I purchased GE!!! Not a happy customer
