Immediately noticed that the doors require a lot of pull to open, and cannot be adjusted. Problems started within months: A cracked water filter leaked unnoticed until floorboards started to warp. Around the four-year mark, the refrigerator side gave out. (With two evaporators, the freezer kept going.) To fix the refrigerator took countless repairman visits: The temperature sensor was replaced, then the control board (twice),then the defrost heater and sensor. Six months later the freezer would go up to 20 F for days, and never below 10 F. After countless more repairman visits, even the GE Tech Line had no clue as to what the problem was. The refrigerator side kept going. Not well, though. With the refrigerator temperature set at 34 F (the lowest setting) and the display registering 33 - 35 F, a calibrated laboratory thermometer revealed that the actual temperature was 40 - 42 F. Fortunately I had bought an extended warranty from Lowes, and one day after I filed a claim they sent me a full refund.

Comment:
I purchased this model because my kitchen designer limited my options for a built-in by assuming I was going with a high-end Viking or Sub-Zero. Not wanting to spend $10K or more, I opted for this GE Profile, which got better reviews than the GE Monogram. I have been very displeased with this purchase. The doors are VERY difficult to open on both the refrigerator and the freezer. GE told me that once the doors had food in them, they would be fine....? They're not fine. Then, after not quite six months of use, both the refrigerator and freezer just stopped working. Finally, for a 42, it's got a very small interior. I understand that counter depth refrigerators have less room, but this is small. I suggest that anyone considering this refrigerator really consider the cost, reliability and size before purchasing this model. It's just not worth the money.
