About - Samsung RS265TD[WP]

The Samsung RS265TD[WP] is part of the refrigerator test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, side by side refrigerator models like the RS265TD[WP] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Temperature performance:
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.

Energy efficiency:
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two refrigerators with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.

Noise:
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Comment:
I have owner over a dozen side by side and by far this is the worst ice maker of any refrigerator. It is very limited in amount of ice but also very slow to output ice and then when you think you want one or two more cubes it will output the most ice, if you stop getting ice it rake like 15-20 seconds to,restart, outputting ice.

Also the shelf spacing is very bad, the wine rack was unless if you want shelfs spaced for any tall items.
I normally do not write reviews but the refrigerator is my far worst one for use I have ever purchased.

Comment:
Lots of storage space. Love that! Touch pad went inop once. Unplugged the refrigerator and it worked again. Ice maker quit working - again unplugged it and it started again. Never owned a refrigerator I had to reboot like a computer. Shelving configuration is limited. Had to put two so close together that one is unusable.

Comment:
I have the 265 model with icemaker in the door. I have no issues with the fridge, icemaker or water dispenser. A little larger drip tray would be the only thing I could see as an improvement. Unit makes plenty of ice for myself and two kids. If you throw a party, better get a couple bags from the local convenience store. I've not had any problems with it spilling ice on the floor or dispensing ice after removing my glass.
The LED lighting is bright and actually better than the fridge it replaced (it was also a side by side)
Gallon milk jugs fit great in the door.
Unit runs quietly. I do hear it dump the ice into the bin, however, it's about the same as all the others I've owned.
I really like the layout. It seems to hold a lot more than the one it replaced.
I highly recommend this fridge.
