The Whirlpool WSF26C2EX[W] is part of the refrigerator
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, side by side refrigerator
models like the WSF26C2EX[W] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two refrigerators with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Water dispenser The water dispenser is normally accessible from the outside as part of the ice and water dispenser.
Stainless/SS-look option Stainless steel is stylish but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
Energy cost/yr. ($) Estimated cost in dollars, based on the current year's average national electricity rate. Your cost will vary depending on the rate for electricity in your area.

So far, so good!
Fast Ice Feature
Holds Temperature Well
I just replaced my 19 year old Whirlpool side by side with this model. So far, everything is working like a charm-it's only been three days but I am amazed how far refrigerators have come in almost two decades!
The shelves and bins are very easy to see into, there is adequate space in the freezer. The unit is very quiet and is holding the temperature well. I am very pleased that this model filters both the water and the ice-it is truly wonderful to have ice that doesn't taste like onions anymore!
If anything changes, I will update my post. By the way, I chose this refrigerator over the Samsung models based on customer reviews that I read from a large chain appliance store. I hope that it will last as long as my other Whirlpool!

I give this appliance a five star because at this time I trully like it and am happy with the purchase. I have to say if you look at the ratings from Lowes and other web sites selling this refrigerator, the ratings are much higher.
One of the main things we like about this refrigerator is that it does not show prints like regular stainless refrigerators. The exterior is quite attractive. We never hear it run, and only occassionally hear an ice cube drop into the cube bucket on the interior of freezer door. There is sufficient room for everything, and I think for a family of four, this refrigertor is ideal. So far have had no problems with it, but time will tell. As it now stands we really like this appliance. We are hoping the ice maker holds up for us because many ice makers have problems eventually.
If you are looking for an attractive appliance, roomy and well lit, with ice maker in door, and has exterior door functions for ice, water, door lock, etc., you may find this is a good buy.
