We purchased this fridge in 2012. We had problems with this fridge right from the start. Since there is a freezer and a refrigerator, but only 1 temperature control, this is your choice: would you like your ice cream to get very soft and soupy, or would you like the contents in the fridge to freeze?

We had a service call within the first 2 weeks of delivery, and the guy replaced the termocouple. That made the problem only slightly better. We were still left with a freezer that wasn't quite cold enough, or a fridge that was too cold.

We ended up putting the ice cream in the basement freezer, but we were not very happy considering how much we spent on it.

This weekend, the fridge stopped making cold all together. We are going to call a different company to attempt a repair again.

Comment:
The most serious problem is that it is impossible to get the freezer below 10-15 degrees (too warm) without freezing produce and eggs in the refrigerator compartment, and even then the freezer is around five degrees, causing serious freezer burn. Whirlpool has been out ten times attempting to fix this without success - one of the telephone service reps told me that the warranty didn't guarantee me a working refrigeror, just that they would keep trying to fix it. The shelf layout is awkward and needs serious re-arranging to fit tall items anywhere but the door.

Had this refrigerator for less than a year.Hated it since probably the 1st month, but I thought I could work through some issues. The deli drawer keeps falling
off the hinges onto the next shelf. The whole refrigerator is made too low for the average adult to reach into comfortably. The shelf design is poor and there is NO storage for tall items such as milk.I tried to return for a credit, but Whirlpool does not stand behind their product. No deal,no credit,Period!
