This is the best electric appliance I have ever bought, especially for the price. I only paid $30.00 at a local department store. It's easy to use, functional, and attractive to serve in. It's a life saver for pot lucks and as a warmer when serving large dinners. I cook, prepare, and serve my mash potatoes in it. I prepared a huge meal for Mother's Day and transported all the food using two of these crock pots. Its an outstanding workhorse.

I could have used this years ago!

Strength
Lid effectively prevents leaks. Nice size. Good handles for those heavy stews.
Weakness
It may be bigger than your older cooker. Make sure you have room for it on the counter and in your car.
I've managed to spill chili and several other dishes out of my older cooker while moving it from place to place in my car. I still have some stains to prove it. This cooker has already proven itself during a football game party and a holiday party. The lid seals very well. No more spills in my car or down my shirt. Now keep in mind that you still need to secure the cooker somehow or don't be surprised if it ends upside down after you slam on your brakes. Just a great idea that I wish had come years ago.
