Worst Toaster Oven Ever
Best Uses
I've been a toaster oven lover for 20 years and love to crisp frozen fries or bring life back to leftovers. This oven simply won't crisp food no mater what setting I use or how long I use it (IE 45 minutes on 500 degrees and my fries are still soggy, and the top and bottom elements are on, so it's working).
How long have you owned it:
One-to-three months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The toast setting is not logical. You set the bottom dial on toast. Then spin the top dial around to the 10 & then bring it back to the desired setting. It won't work unless you do this. And then, be careful because right next to the off setting, there's a stay on setting. I don't understand why you would want it to stay on. Dangerous if you walk away. I thought I turned it off but instead pushed it slightly passed the off setting & the next thing my bread is on fire. I'm glad I didn't walk away. And, you can't set it low enough to NOT burn your bread either.

At this price, you might imagine that this toaster oven is not particularly versatile and you'd be correct. In fact, it is as simple as they come and I would NOT recommend using it for baking or cooking from scratch. The oven temperature does not seem to be particularly well calibrated and the overall construction does not inspire the confidence. Rather, it is perfect for toasting, quick reheating or defrosting small portions of food when using your main oven would be overkill. It is well-suited for re-heating frozen desserts such as poundcake or muffins, as it will quickly caramelize the outside and heat the inside to a nice, tender crumb texture. I occasionally use it to roast (broil) nuts for recipes and the results are just fine.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
