Comment:
This is the second Breville oven that we purchased. The first one was damaged by a power surge during a lightning strike. So we learned to always unplug the oven when not in use. The second one lasted not even three years, and just stopped working in the middle of preparing a meal. The LED display already became hard to read years before that. When it is working the oven is a great tool. The very short life span makes it hard to recommend it, though.

Comment:
I had a Krups convection toaster oven before buying my Breville 800XL. I thought the Krups could not be beaten, but the Breville showed me I was wrong. Not only is it larger, it cooks even more evenly. My family and I like the larger size, and its better evenness. The only downside is that its preheat time is noticeably longer. I surmise that is due to its larger volume capacity, which is a very acceptable tradeoff.

Comment:
This has been a great toaster oven except for the noisy fan when the convection was running. Sounded like a cheap $39.95 Black & Decker. After a little over 2 years it just died. For the high cost of this unit this is unacceptable! No more of this brand for me.
