Bought this during Amazon's Prime Day sale. Received this a.m., and we tested it out right away.
First off, we eat a lot of homemade bread -- breadmaker bread. My machine makes a loaf that slices to 5x5 slices. They fit in the slot, but don't go down all the way, so about 3/4 of each slice doesn't toast at the top. If we cut the slices in half, they fit but then they have to be fished out when the toasting is finished. We decided to try slices of store-bought bread also, and same thing -- about 1/2 of top didn't toast. This might be a deal-breaker for us.
The knobs didn't stay down some times on the first try. May be defective toaster.
The toaster looks good, and there are plenty of settings. It gives off a melting plastic odor when toasting, but doesn't seem to affect the bread itself. Like the retractable cord.
All in all, I think we'll continue the quest to replace our 25-yr-old toaster. This one is a return.

I have an expectation of a toaster: to toast evenly and consistently. This does neither. The bottom front corner will be charred, the upper left corner raw. The first run of toast will be the color selected, the second run will be much more charred on the same setting.

When we first got it, it would emit this horrible burning plastic smell. I had to plug it in outside and continuously make it heat up (no bread) for about a dozen cycles before the smell went away. Not very appetizing.

I am not crazy about the levers you push down to start the toast - they have a squishy feel that makes it hard to know when you have fully depressed the lever. Other than those complaints, the toaster is easy to use, and it looks nice. But who cares if it looks nice but can't properly toast bread???

Overall, I like this toaster. We have used it almost for a year. Works the same now as it did at first. I hate cords, and this has a retractable cord, love that. For me it browns very well; my daughter likes her toast almost black, and I like mine barely toasted, and it does well on both. Bagels, english muffins, buns are also used in this toaster and it does very well, when they fit! That would be my biggest complaint, slots are a little small, but probably not if you don't use it for odd shaped things. After researching for a nicer-looking toaster, (and that is totally subjective!) I am going to keep this one, it seems they all have drawbacks, and I can live with a little bit of ugly!
