Not a good toaster

Comment:
I wanted a small toaster and CR gave this one a decent rating. It fit nicely on my kitchen counter, but did not perform well. Dark toast on one side, very light on the other. Worse if making just one piece of toast. Bagel setting only extends the toasting time, ensuring an even burn on all sides.

I returned it, going to try another brand.

Comment:
This toaster is not even worth the low price we paid for it. We do a lot of one piece toasting and after two weeks of adjusting the controls have yet to have satisfactory toast come out. Many times we have to push it down twice to get anything other than warm bread. Would not even recommend to my worst enemy. Cuisinart should be ashamed to even have their name on it.

Comment:
We have had this toaster for about two months and we have burnt more toast and bagels than we have made good toast. The control is very inconsistent. A number three is good one day and burns it the next day. We now have it set under three and SOMETIMES we get decent toast. I would hate to see what 7 would get you, probably charcoal. The temperature setting knob is very loose and ends up on another setting accidentally frequently. We watch for that now so that is not why everything gets burned. When it doesn't burn it, one side is good but the other side is hardly toasted. Save your money and get another brand.
