NICE LOOKING TOASTER. <br />Received this toaster in late December 2012. <br />In March 2013 in order to get it to work we had to: 1) unplug toaster <br />2) remove cleaning tray. <br />3) Shake toaster <br />4) plug it in. <br />5) insert bread.<br />then it would toast the bread very nicely. <br />REPEAT THIS PROCESS EVERYTIME I WANTED TO USE IT.<br /> Called Hamilton Beach. They were willing to replace toaster as long as I paid the freight $9.00+. I Declined their offer. Why should the I have to pay for their mistake?

digital pad and readout stopped working after 5-months. So I had to dig out my old toaster. Was a waste of money despite the good rating it had. guess I got the lemon.

I absolutely love toast and in the past I have never been all that happy with the toasters I have had. This Hamilton Beach toaster, however, is absolutely wonderful. It toasts very very evenly yet does not dry out the bread. I love the digital controls because there is no more guess work. I know exactly what number I like for bagels, toast, english muffins and toaster pastry and it comes out the same each and every time. When I push the lever down it has the feel of a precision-built machine; not sloppy or Iffy. The control buttons also feel 1st rate. The brushed stainless finish stays cool to the touch and is easy to keep clean. The removable crumb tray is a big help, too. The slots are quite wide and long enough to accommodate nearly anything you want to toast in it. Not only is this a great toaster, but it looks beautiful and it is very easily affordable. I paid a couple dollars less than the price listed here. There are others for about 1/2 that price but they are truly inferior in most every way. My only problem with this toaster is that I could not find it in any local stores; I had to order it online.
