It is incredible to me that this unit continues to enjoy a best buy rating, the web is full of reviews like the others here. My unit quit after two years. Hole in the evaporator coil. Haier folks were useless. The authorized service folks charged $100 just to look at the unit. After a month of aggressive followup I was finally told that the unit would not be covered. CR wake up these units are poorly made and totally unsupported. BTW when the unit failed the interior temp went to 88 degrees F ruining several bottles of fine wine.

Chilling wine
We bought this wine cellar based on Consumer Reports Best Buy recommendation, and placed it in our great room. It is so noisy when the motor kicks on, I sometimes have to turn up the volume on the TV. It's annoying, and it's right there. Also we needed to reverse the door hinge from right side to left, and the instructions were difficult to follow, plus Haier had not drilled some of the required holes. We called Customer Service, and they said they would send a repair company. After a week and several phone calls, we gave up and drilled the holes ourselves. What's up with Consumer Reports rating methods?

I wrote the first review for this product and still have not received a working unit. Called today and the guy I spoke to so many times is no longer with the company and made no notes from engineering of the approval to receive a new unit. I am starting new with a young lady who says she will do the best she can. It is beyond belief that a company could care so little for the consumer. Replacement in a timely fashion should have been good business and kept me from making my truthful claims. I will never purchase another product from this company and will be very surprised if they ever make good on the unit that never worked out of the carton sitting in my den. When I expressed my outrage at starting over and asked for a supervisor, naturally I was already at the top of the complaint chain. Never had such poor product follow up.
Thanks,
Mark
