I think this is a great product. You have to clean this product to ensure it doesn't leak. If your floors have a lot of hair it will clog the filters and leak.

I loved the product.

Comment:
I had an older model (approx. 2006) Hoover Steam Vac that I loved, so when it finally bit the dust after more than 10 years of hard use, it was a no brainer to buy another one. BUT...the new one's hard surface attachment broke after the 3rd use and the scrubbers stopped spinning after 14 months. I took it to a Hoover-authorized repair place -- which ended up being a dealer of a competitor to Hoover -- and he told me the bearing on the Hoovers have a tendency to rust. He said he could replace the bearings and clean the machine for $75. Or I could just give up on my Hoover since they aren't very good machines and just buy his brand. Hmmmm.... Sounded a bit fishy...so I checked Consumer Reports for information about Oreck steam cleaners and was very disappointed not to find anything. Not sure what I'll do now. I'm certainly not going to pay someone else to clean my carpets and upholstery. Those services are such a rip-off compared to the 30-60 minutes every 3 months it takes me to do it myself.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I replaced my last Hoover Steam vac 77 with this one due to it's many design flaws. I loved and was impressed by it at first but it seamed to come un-glued more and more each time I used it. It started leaking at the tank then quickly developed another leak at the attachment side of the hose. When I replaced the machine with a new one it soon developed similar issues. I live in a 2,000 sq ft home that has 50% carpet and the rest tile. Our home has 2 adults in it no kids and 2 well behaved cats. The cleaner gets pulled out monthly just to help cut down on allergens rather than dirt. I just recently replaced the last Hoover with a deep cleaner from Kenmore.
