The Electrolux Perfect Steam EWMED65H[IW] is part of the clothes dryer
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, electric dryer
models like the Perfect Steam EWMED65H[IW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This score combines performance on three types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.
Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 6 to 8.0 cu. ft.
For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.
Features & Specs - Electrolux Perfect Steam EWMED65H[IW]
Stainless-steel drum A stainless-steel drum is likely to resist damage better than plastic and painted metal drums.
Porcelain top A porcelain top resists scratching better than a painted one but generally adds to a dryer's cost. Painted tops, far more common, are often quite durable with normal use.
Drying rack The rack attaches inside the drum to keep items such as sneakers or sweaters from tumbling.
Custom programs This feature allows you to save your favorite settings.
Steam option Generally, a water hook-up is required with this feature. In this cycle, a small amount of water is sprayed into the drum while tumbling with heat. It helps to reduce wrinkles and odors, but is intended only for a few garments at a time.
We have had this dryer for six months and so far the motor has had to be replaced once, the heating element is on its third repair, and the clothes still are not getting dry. This is the worst dryer I have ever owned and most certainly makes me regret my decision to purchase Electrolux appliances across the board. Absolutely a pile of trash and not worth anything at this point. Very, very disappointed.

Love it. In heavy use for 19 months.
Easy To Use
Sheets & Mattress Covers
I run 15 loads per week through this dryer. It vents straight out of the wall which will always provide the best drying.
The cycles are long, because it doesn't cook the clothes. I generally use three cycles, delicate, normal and bulky for sheets and bedding and towels. Delicate works very well for not leaving wrinkles.
Fast dry is not for really getting things bone dry, but removing enough moisture to finish a hang dry. The dryer is exceptionally quiet and I can't hear it.
I rarely use the steam cycle.
I am a fairly neglectful laundress, meaning I tend to walk away and do other chores. If I'm paying attention, there are no wrinkles. Best dryer I've had. In my experience people overload their equipment then expect miracles. I've had crummy experiences with several brands and this is my first front loader.

Not worth the expense!
Leaves Clothes Damp
We have only owned this dryer three months and have already had to have it repaired. It left clothes damp. It is not worth th price. We had another brand before and should have gotten another one. Don't waist your money.
