About - LG DLG1002W

The LG DLG1002W is part of the clothes dryer test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas dryer models like the DLG1002W are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Drying performance:
This score combines performance on three types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.

Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 6 to 8.0 cu. ft.

For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.

We are a family of five with some sporty kids and use the washer and dryer a lot. We bought the LG because the Asko we had previously was unreliable. And now the LG has stopped working after 18 months, past the warranty. I'm hoping it's a cheap fix.

I wouldnt say it's overly quick in drying, and indeed if you have a wet bathroom mat you're drying it will take awhile and perhaps two cycles, but things like that also depend upon how well your washer dries. For most laundry it is just fine on speed. Other than that it has been flawless. It doesnt have a steam option, and we dont seem to miss it. The price as CR says is excellent for what you get. I have heard LG repair service isn't all that great to deal with so if you have an opportunity to buy an extended warrantee from the store of purchase (ie Home Depot) you might consider it
