The LG DLG1102W is part of the clothes dryer
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas dryer
models like the DLG1102W are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This score combines performance on three types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.
Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 6 to 8.0 cu. ft.
For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.
About This Brand
This company is known for its TrueSteam dryers and the designer colors available for its models. Some models have a steam generator intended to eliminate wrinkles. Prices for LG dryers range from $700 to $1,200.
Stackable You can save space by placing the dryer on top of a suitable washer. Note that a special kit is sometimes required to mount the dryer on top of the washer.
Dimensions (in.) The exterior measurements of the dryer with the door closed, in inches (height x width x depth). Be sure to allow clearance in the rear for the vent duct.
Stainless-steel drum A stainless-steel drum is likely to resist damage better than plastic and painted metal drums.
Porcelain top A porcelain top resists scratching better than a painted one but generally adds to a dryer's cost. Painted tops, far more common, are often quite durable with normal use.
Drying rack The rack attaches inside the drum to keep items such as sneakers or sweaters from tumbling.
Custom programs This feature allows you to save your favorite settings.
Steam option Generally, a water hook-up is required with this feature. In this cycle, a small amount of water is sprayed into the drum while tumbling with heat. It helps to reduce wrinkles and odors, but is intended only for a few garments at a time.
We just bought the DLG1502W which, I think, is the next version of this model. Great machine at a great price.
Worth noting that the top is not flat, which reduces the amount of space that can be used for folding and piling laundry on top of the machine.
How long have you owned it:
A month or less
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Noisy machine - bad customer service
Poor customer service
LG Model DLG1102W - Installed on 9/27/14 and we're on our second service call.

First tecnician couldn't solve the problem, but his report indicated he fixed the machine - NOT TRUE. The machine makes a sort of rattling sound when it's turned on. It's noisy even when the dryer is enpty...

Went to a big box store that the same model on display and asked the salesman to plug it in so I could hear how quiet it is. Surprise !! no rattling noise.

LG customer service is cumbersome - their service calender only goes out 7 days at a time. If you want to schedule a date 8 or 10 days in the future you have to wait until that week to book an appointment.
