About - Maytag 2000 Series MGDE200X[W]

The Maytag 2000 Series MGDE200X[W] is part of the clothes dryer test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas dryer models like the 2000 Series MGDE200X[W] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Drying performance:
This score combines performance on three types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.

Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 6 to 8.0 cu. ft.

For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.

Easy To Use
Clumps Clothes
Leaves Clothes Damp
Best Uses
I wash about 5 loads per week. The dryer does not completely dry the socks and some other clothes even if I put them back in for more time. I have to hang them to dry them. I do use the maximum wring out setting in the washer, so they are not that wet when they are put into the dryer.<br />While the dryer is easy to set and use, it does not completely dry the clothes. Even if the low wrinkle setting is chosen, the clothes are very wrinkled and must be ironed. Even the sheets with fabric softener are too wrinkled to put on the bed.

only 6 months and door gasket gone already. not too keen on this. will it happen every 6 months or less? if it does, it's not worth the trouble. looks and name isn't everything.
