About - Whirlpool Duet WGD94HEX[W]

The Whirlpool Duet WGD94HEX[W] is part of the clothes dryer test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas dryer models like the Duet WGD94HEX[W] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Drying performance:
This score combines performance on three types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.

Capacity:
Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 6 to 8.0 cu. ft.

Convenience:
For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.

Comment:
This product has been terrible since we bought it. I keep a supply of thermistors, thermostats, and thermal fuses on hand to replace because usually it is one of those that has failed. However it keeps finding new ways to break. To have paid this much money to get such a piece of junk is infuriating. I am about to throw it away and get something cheaper and better.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

Comment:
Product has very flexible settings and large capacity. LCD display is easy to read and gives you great guidance. Dryer is very quite and has very easy to clean lint screen. Great parther to the Duet Washer. I have the model WGD97HEXL which has the much better LCD display (very easy to see and read).

Cloths even without the steam setting which we have not tried yet come out wrinkle free.

Comment:
This Whirlpool Duet Sport dryer I own has a PF error (power failure) problem that the Technician nor Whirlpool can correct. It makes drying clothes very difficult as the machine fails constantly. The exact same problem is indicated by many, many people on the Internet. I wanted a basic clothing dryer but nooooooooooooooo we need computer boards in everything. (PS - yes, an electrician has certified the outlet and breaker are fine)
