About - Kirkland Signature Gel (Costco)

The Kirkland Signature Gel (Costco) is part of the dishwasher detergent test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, dishwasher detergent models like the Gel (Costco) are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Liquids and powders generally pour easily; gels have a thicker consistency than liquids. Tablets are a dry, solid premeasured amount of detergent. Pacs have a dissolvable outer package containing a premeasured amount of liquid, gel, or powder. A dispenser product uses a cartridge that automatically dispenses a charge of detergent for 12 loads of dishes.

Does Not Clean Properly
I Do Not Like It
Leaves a waxy film
Leaves Tea Stains
Smells Bad
Best Uses
There is nothing good about the new improved kirkland liquid dishwasher gel. I had to put in a little bleach to get out the tea stains and then triple rinse.I am going to try something else sadly. I have been using kirkland for years and no complaints till now.

Everything tastes like soap
Cleans Well
Cost Compared To Cascade
Strong Soapy Smell
Best Uses
I picked up a double pack because Costco was out of Cascade. I used it and it seemed to clean as well as the liquid Cascade, but then I noticed the strong soapy smell that others have noticed.

I cannot stand it, especially on my coffee mug. It's more pronounced on plastic, but it definitely ruins the taste of food. I will be returning it and going back to Cascade, even though it costs more.
