I was hesitant about getting an automatic-off iron because I sew all day and need to leave it on. However, my husband kept finding that I had left it on all night and he did not like that. I find that it heats up in about 30 seconds so it has really not been a problem and I am probably saving a lot of electricity. Iron works well, glides smoothly, has a cover over the water intake and doesn't leak. The only con I can thing of is the cord placement. However, I use a cord minder that holds the cord up high so that is not a problem. I like this much better that the two Rowenta Professionals I wore out that leaked and sputtered.

not so self cleaning
It just sprayed out brown all over my white table cloth. I still have to use starch on Linen and then it is still not as smooth as it should be. Had a little cheap GE for years and decided to get a good expensive iron. First it was a Rowenta that I took back twice and now I purchased this DeLonghi thinking it would be better. Well its not and I will go back to my $6.00 GE. Just because you pay more doesn't mean it will be better. Go with the cheap and when it stops just go buy another.

Not All That
The iron does a nice enough job but it's really bulky and heavy. The burst of steam is more than adequate. The cord and handle rest designed poorly - the iron fell over twice and put a dent in my hardwood floor.
