Best Iron I've bought in decades

Comment:
Best iron I've bought in decades. That includes more pricey ones. Not as good as the one Mom had.5 kids in our family & we all had clean, ironed clothes all the time. She was using it when she died & one of the girls has it now. A Sunbeam I think. I have not had any problems in over a year with this 14977,I use it a lot, does a great job even on heavier fabrics, really smooth. I paid about [$] for it at [@]. No leaks, anywhere yet, keep distilled water in it all the time. The mister often tends to stream the water instead of misting but not all time. The amount of steam isn't great but its adequate for most items. I've spent over twice as much on irons I've not been nearly as satisfied with or didn't last a year. I'm convinced you can't do better than this one for a reasonable amount of $$$. Wish it was made in America though.

Comment:
This iron was heavy and the weight was poorly distributed. The steam output was poor and the controls were placed under the handle making it hard to see them. The features sounded good on the box, but it seemed as if the iron had been designed by someone who didn't actually iron.<br />I returned mine.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I use this iron moderately (4-6 shirts/wk). Other uses such as slacks and curtains occassionally. My experience has been that the heat recovery is a bit slower than most and steam is irregular. This iron leaked from steam vents almost from the day I purchased it and spots fabric regularly.
