I use this iron for domestic sewing and ironing our clothes. The steam chamber works well on it and it does not leak. It produces a lot of steam.

However I have owned it two years and the rubber on handle is starting to peel off and the I have to buy an new filter for anti-calcification. The fact that you have to buy an new anti-calc filter and how to purchase is not something that is readily know about this product. Also the steam chamber empties quickly, meaning you have to unplug and refill it often. It is also very heavy.

I would not buy this product again. Like other Reliable products for the home user. It is expensive for the quality offered.

Comment:
I love to quilt so I especially like being able to turn off the auto-off feature. The steam is great with out spitting but it is problematic when the iron has to be shaken regularly to keep it steaming as you iron. Also, the rubber handle on mine has started to peel off. I have had my iron for more than 2 years with basically few problems. The other day I turned my iron on and it would not heat up. I am back to using a travel iron. I not will not pay this large a price in the future for an iron, hoping for a quality product.

Comment:
As a seamstress (hobby) that sews garments to home dec items, this iron does very well. It has 2 levels of steam;I generally use the lower level unless it's a heavy fabric that needs more steam. There are 4 temp settings, depending on the fabric. What makes this iron different & better is the separate heating elements for the water/steam and the sole plate. You can have steam on a low heat setting for delicate fabrics. Most irons have one heating element for both the water & sole plate. This limits usage to higher temps in order to make steam. Not good for fabrics like chiffons, etc.

It took me a little while to get used to the position of the controls, just under my hand. There is digital display (icons) that I like. It is fairly heavy, more than average. I wish the water tank was larger so I didn't need to refill as much, but this would add more weight. Having to refill indicates how much steam it makes, even on the lower setting! I use mineral-free water & don't have any leaking or spitting. I'm very happy with this iron. If I bought another, I'd look at the Reliable V50 since it's lighter. That model wasn't sold when I got my V100, but I would expect very good results with it.
