Great Iron for 1 year
8/27/2012
Pros
Irons Smoothly
Saves Time
Cons
Best Uses
Comment:
The iron is great and has a detachable sole plate so you can use the top part as its own steamer. However the iron seems to have an electric water pump in it that you can hear work. I think in mine over time the pump is failing as it is now loud and intermittent. If you have hard water I think it gets clogged. I tried cleaning it but no-go.

Comment:
This iron takes forever to heat up and the controls are pretty cheap feeling.

The setup/start-up of the iron is strangely complex (for an iron). For example:

- Turn to Min and steam to off before filling with water
- Turn to Min and steam to off every time you put it away
- Ensure steam is turned off for two minutes then on before doing any steam ironing

Whatever happened to just turning an iron on, waiting until you see steam, iron ... and then simply unplugging it when you're done?

The shot of steam also seems to be controlled by a motorized pump instead of just a simple mechanical pump as with most other irons. Instead of pushing a button and instantaneously getting a blast of steamm you push a button ... a pump runs to charge the system up (with a significant delay) ... then you (finally) get a weak gush of steam. The technology didn't bring an improvement.

Comment:
I was very excited about having an iron and a steamer all in one. But after pressing 3 shirts the iron started to leak. I continued to press more shirts by the time I got to my seventh shirt the water was pouring out and leaking all over the ironing board. I have read all the instructions to make sure that this iron offered everything I was looking for and that I followed all their instructions. In the last two months I have tried one other iron and it also leak. This will be the third iron I had purchased in the last year and each time I tried a different brand.
