Owned for less than 6 months, already had to replace filter and now it will not make steam. Have tried everything in the manual with no success. Even when it worked the floors were very streaky.

Comment:
We use used both units on Tile and Hardwood floors, cleaning up after the dogs tracked in mud and food. The First unit lasted for only 7 uses. Thought I caused the unit to fail. After rereading the directions, I had done nothing wrong. Replaced this unit with same model and after 7 uses it also failed. A very short life span for a product that its only function is to steam clean the floor. For the cost of what I have spent and usage that I got in return it was a very bad investment. First unit I ordered on Line and second unit I bought from Department store. This made no difference they both failed. Bissell stop selling this product it is ruining your good name. I would not buy this steam mop! Save your money and get a good mop/bucket and hot water and plenty of towels . Bissell engineered this unit to fail. What a money maker for them and a lost to the consumer. It's 2013 and these engineers can't make anything last long enough so the consumer feels they got their moneys worth out of the product they purchased. Shameful!!!!!!!!!!

Comment:
I replaced my awful Shark with the Bissell. I was told it was way superior to the Shark. Not that I can tell. It either delivers too much steam..leaving pergo floors wet...or not enough. It leaves a very streaky result. I have to go over the floor with a damp swifter with just plain water to regain the luster. Recommend just using the swifter with plain water to begin with.
