Cleaning wood floors
Comment:
I bought this steamer in 2009. It's worked great for me consistantly over the years. I find it works really well on my wood floors (bamboo) and decently on my vinyl. I have textured vinyl so it's hard for the cloth to get into all the little crevaces. And it's less obviously clean than the wood floor which practically sparkles after being cleaned with the steamer. I didn't give it five stars because I think there's a few things they could do to improve on the design. First, the cleaning cloths... they are held on by these clips on the side and I really wish there were clips on the front and back because sometimes the cloth will bunch up and go under the steamer effectivly blocking the steam and making it difficult to move the machine forward and backwards. This doesn't happen when moving it from side to side because of the clips but it's far too heavy of a machine to move it the same way one would when using a traditional mop. Second, they really need to do something with the chord. It's not very long and it doesn't cross my living room in my not very big condo. And it would be great if it had a retractable chord like most vacuums. That chord causes me the most frustration because it gets in the way and I tend to wrap it up with arms and legs in order to get it out of my way. All in all this is the one product I use to spot clean my wood floors and I'm very happy that it can do just that.

After only a few uses (less than 10), the unit stopped making steam. In other words, it died.

I've gone through two of these steamers. Both worked well on my wood, vinyl and ceramic floors, but both quit working after about a year. I tried to get the first one fixed but was told the repair would cost more than a replacement. I won't buy another.
