When you live with Hamster Man ....
1/12/2013
Pros
Lightweight
Loosens Sticky Messes
Cons
Handle Pretty Cheesy
Pad Cleaning Inconvenient
Tight Corners Impossible
Best Uses
Kitchen floor
Comment:
This mop is great for loosening food that has stuck and hardened to the floor (think raisins, or bits of garlic peel). I have dark slate floors and a roommate with hamsters in his ancestry, so I'm always finding lost, petrified cranberries raisins on the floor. This mop saves alot of chiseling on hands and knees.

It's less successful in the bathroom, where there are many tight spots. The handle base locks up if you try to negotiate them. This mop works best when you can use it with long, sweeping strokes.

Cleaning the pads IS disgusting. I first turn them over if I need to complete a large job, then rinse them in a bucket of hot water to clear the crud away. The dirty water gets poured down the toilet. The pads go through the washer when I've got enough other dirty cleaning supplies to make up a small load.

Comment:
The first one I received wouldn't steam. The company replaced it. That one didn't steam either. The company eventually replaced that one also and then the next one also. I begged the company to test the replacements they sent before sending it to me. That didn't happen. Eureka wouldn't give me my money back. They wore me down. I didn't want any more steam mops that didn't work. I just gave up. I brought all of the steam mops that didn't work to the place that repairs Eureka products figuring that the man could use some of the parts. (Eureka won't pay for repairs on steam mops.)
