Steam Mop: Why No On/Off Switch?!?
11/29/2014
Pros
Pump-handle Steam Action
Replacement Cleaning Pads
Steam Clean No Chemicals
Triangle Head For Corners
Cons
Huge No Onoff Switch
No Deodorizer For Carpets
Tedious On Non-wax Floor
Best Uses
Steam Linoleum Floors
Comment:
Like the idea of a germ-free steam mopped floor. Like the use of steam versus chemicals for cleaning. Do Not like the failure to have an On/Off switch. Just plugging in to the wall socket for ON/OFF can be hazardous. Sparks have literally appeared when disconnecting cord from wall socket--indicates there was Live Power surge. Why would ANYONE in 2014 create a product that the USER can't turn ON or OFF deliberately? Seems like a gross negligent failure. I don't understand how (or IF) the product is UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified as SAFE with the direct current cord necessity. I have to use a PowerStrip with an ON/OFF Switch to plug this steamer mop in so I can have the ability to SAFELY turn the product On/Off--because the Manufacturer FAILED to provide one (sigh).

Pros
Deodorizes As It Cleans
Floor Drives In Seconds
Still Works Like New
Use Distilled Water
Used It 3 Years
Used On Tiled Floors
Cons
Best Uses
Comment:
I used the recommended pads which did not wash well after use. Finally made my own pads from old towels which worked just as well and were discarded after use. Steam was hot; pumping handle kept steam consistent while moving mop from one space to another. Removed stains quickly. Have had this mop for almost four years, using it once a week. Steam clean also deodorizes and leaves a clean smell in apartment using distilled water only.

Pros
Lightweight
Cons
Pads Don't Stick Together
Best Uses

Comment:
I use the product to clean wood floors as needed. I use on vinyl almost every other week. It is lightweight and flexible. The worst problem from the beginning are the pads, large and triangular. Washed according to directions, no dryer used; they never stuck together after that. I paid enough for this mop and I am very disappointed in it.
