Comment:
The Shark I currently own is one purchased directly from Shark after complaining to them about the short life of the previous one. I followed directions and used only distilled water. Same thing happened to this one as previous one. Loud pop and suddenly stopped making steam. Not stopped up! Internal problem. I'm not willing or able to take it apart and fix it.

I had used this once a year on sealed hardwood floors. It may clean, but it leaves streaks and is dull.

Works best on ceramic, tile or vinyl floors. I think a scrub mop and scrubbing on hands and knees gets floors cleaner, but this is a bit easier.

Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleans OK but handle is weak

Comment:
I use this regularly on the kitchen and bathroom floors because it's so easy to add a little water and plug it in, then throw the dirty pad in the wash.
The only problem I have had is with the handle. There is a big plastic loop that I guess is only meant to be pushed back and forth. I tried to push it sideways along the cabinets and just like that it cracked. Epoxy held it together for a while, then more cracks developed even though I was trying to be careful with it. The replacement handle is not cheap! For the stress that can be placed on the handle, it should be sturdier.
