About This Brand

Colorful styling, innovative features, and a splashy advertising campaign featuring its namesake owner and designer have helped Dyson quickly become a major player in the U.S. Ranging in price from about $300 to $600, Dyson vacuums have helped increase the average price paid for uprights. Canisters have joined that lineup. Hand vacs are also part of the mix. The brand is available nationwide through major mass merchants such as Target, Best Buy, and Sears.

Comment:
We have had to replace the entire brush and head unit twice. Losses suction constantly, even with regular emptying, or else the brush doesn't work, making it only useful for bare floors.

Only good thing is that Dyson has warranteed the replacements, however it still doesn't work properly. Worst appliance purchase I've made.

Comment:
I have already had to replace the dust bin. It barely tapped the side of the trash can and snapped off. Upon inspection it is not secured by a hinge pin but two plastic tabs. I can't imagine it would cost a lot to run a metal pin through the hinge for added support. Suction is good. Hose crushes easily. I would not buy another Dyson. Too cheaply made for the price.

Comment:
wife uses instead of big dyson (big d works perfectly)DC26 is light but loses suction frequently. The filters are kept clean, the vac always emptied after use, but the aggrevation factor is too high. Some bloggers describe a design flaw in the suction tubes which clog frequently...We recommend the big machines(which are too heavy) but have been disappointed with the DC26 flaws.I would not recommend this model.
