Comment:
Not many vacs work well, are designed well, and for the money, they simply break down. I have done design work for the Space Shuttle, and taught Technology for nearly forty years. I must say, Electrolux went plastic (quality plastic) but they designed for the user, in several pragmatic ways. I wanted their upright, but after trying the canister at Lowes, I made the switch for the best. At 66 young years, the canister is lighter than holding up the handle of an upright as you vac. This unit has ALL of the bells and whistles. I give a 5 star just for the design. It does the fully carpeted house cleaning deeply. And the tile kitchen, I can turn off the powerhead and it rolls well for ease. I expect to have this unit for years. Oh, and it is very quiet to the ears. BTW, being a techie, I did a lot of research, a lot, prior to making this purchase. Seems like nearly 50 years ago, I was using my parents' Electrolux. It is still great, only better.

I purchased an Electrolux Ultra bagless canister vacuum EL4300A and although I've used it only once, I feel I'm going to be very happy with it. It's pretty well all made of plastic, which makes me wonder how well it will wear. But considering I paid under $300.00 on [@], I can't complain. I have arthritis in my hands and wanted something light. It's nice and light to pull around and seems quieter than my other vacuums. It takes a bit of thinking to figure out how best to keep attachments attached by its wrap-around elastic and I have found that the floor attachment's bristles are cut shorter in the back than the front…meaning that it only picks up the dirt when you fully extend your arm so that the shorter back bristles drop down to the floor. Oh well!! I'm going to use the floor attachment on the rugs until I wear down the front a bit. I love the fact that it's bagless. I got ticked off about the screws & washers on the floor after 2 months of waiting for my bidet to be installed and sucked them up….thought better of it and easily recovered them with a little shaking. That sure beat the heck out of buying vacuum bags and then ripping them apart looking for whatever that tinkling sound was that got accidently sucked up. The cord winds inside the shell at the push of a button but watch out as the head of the plug can flip around and come back to smack your fingers, legs, whatever. I have 3 dogs that have the run of the house but the rotweiller has to be the worse for shedding and I'm really looking forward to seeing how well the HEPA filter system works through dog hair, wood burning stove and living in the boonies with plenty of gravel, dirt and muddy little toesie prints.
