About This Brand
An established name in electronics, LG has also become a major brand in vacuums and other appliances in a relatively short time. LG focuses its uprights and canisters on bagless technology. LG vacuums are priced from about $250 to $550 and are sold at leading national retailers, such as Sears, Best Buy, and Amazon.
Bag Denotes whether the model has a disposable bag. A growing number of vacuums, particularly upright models, use a container that can be emptied, eliminating the bag. To capture fine-dirt particles, however, these models must use a filter (such as a HEPA filter) that can need routine cleaning or replacement. Replacement filters tend to be significantly more expensive than bags. While vacuums with bags may also use filters, the bag acts as a prefilter that helps to keep the fine-dirt filter cleaner, thus extending its performance until cleaning or replacement. Another caveat: Emptying the dustbin and cleaning a filter can be messy, and handling it may expose you to dust and other allergens.

Brush on/off An on/off switch for the rotating brush lets you stop the brush from rotating when using tools or cleaning bare floors. This helps eliminate scattered dirt on bare floors and reduces the risk of injury if the vacuum tips over during use. It also reduces the risk of damaging a carpet or the finish of a bare floor if the vacuum sits in place at the low-height setting.

Easy on/off A switch that's located on the handle or where your foot can activate it is more convenient than one on the body of the vacuum.

Manual-pile adjust Lets you adjust the height of the machine to a carpet's pile height to allow for easy movement and thorough cleaning. Adjustments are automatic on some models, but we prefer the manual control afforded by some models.

I ordered online and the power brush didn't work right out of the box. LG offered to repair but I elected to return and have a new one sent. New one had same problem. LG offered to send a power brush in 8-10 days. Since I had already been 2 weeks with no vacuum I returned it and went to Sears and bought a Kenmore.

Comment:
Purchased this vaccum based on CR's recommendation and am exceptionally disappointed. It's been returned to the factory because of a disruption in the suction. It was cleaned and returned only to have the same issue happen so have to ship it off again! Hardwood floor attachment is faulty as dirt gets pushed around rather than swept underneath to be sucked up. Suction is weak and vaccum continually gets clogged. We have to remove clogs pretty much every time we use it.

Don't waste your money or your time. It doesn't clean and is a hassle to use. Keep on looking.

Out of the box the vacuum worked 1.5 hours. The unit kept shutting down. The empty Tank light on the handle was flashing. The unit would work for 5 mins. and then the same thing would happen. Tried to get a replaced but was refused because the unit was over the 30 day period. I had the unit for 45 days.
Took the unit in for repair and it appears to be ok...for now. LG was NOT very helpful.
