Comment:
As stated, third year with the Olympus and still happy. Sucks like the dickens, cheaply made attachments but still work well. The manufacturer does sell upgraded attachments that will work with this model but are pretty expensive. A word to the wise this vacuum is not for carpet. If you use it on carpet or have throw rugs with pets you will not be happy. Buy a model with a motorized head. If you have tile or hardwood floors this vacuum is for you. Generic bags are available and work just as well, at first glance changing the bag looks complicated but is really almost idiot proof. One issue (my fault) must of sucked up something wet and got a musty smell in the hose. Took two days soaking the hose in a bucket with bleach to get the stink out. Foot switches work great, cord coiler and power no problems. Body holding up very good considering how many chairs and walls I've bounced it off.

Comment:
We have tile and hardwood floors with throw rugs and love this vac. Since we have a shaggy dog and a cat, it gets used a lot. It picks up pet hair wonderfully. My only suggestion is for Miele to include both a hardwood floor nozzle and a carpet, as the included combination nozzle is not the best.

Comment:
One thing is for sure: canister vacuums do not work well on carpet; and uprights do not work well on hardwood floors. Since our house has both, we have a vacuum for each type of floor. This Miele is fantastic on hardwood floors. Since it's lightweight, I also carry it into the garage so I can vacuum the car seats and floors. The only complaint I have is that the power cord is pretty short; which is typical of European vacuum cleaners.
