Comment:
I've had mine for 10 years and am just breaking down to get a new one when we get new carpets. I HATE to clean and I have bad allergies. This does such a wonderful job and cuts the need for deep cleaning drastically. Also it gets UNDER things like the bed that regular vacuums can't without moving men coming in and that really helps my allergies. It's super easy to empty and clean. Since mine is 10 years old the length of time it runs is a bit short and I had to buy additional light-houses to keep it from getting caught in the dips in front of the sliding glass doors.

I also have a scooba for washing my tile floors and love it just as much.

Comment:
While pretty pricey for a glorified dustmop/Dustbuster, I love my Roomba 770. I thought I kept the joint pretty clean, but everytime I release the Roomba, it snorks up another handful of cat hair, dirt and dust.

I have 1500 ft/sq laminate floors with several rugs and two cats. The Rooba handles it all with no problem, then returns to its docking station for charging. It handles wires laying on the floor alright, but I neated up a few spots with those little baseboard stick-on tabs--especially the rat's nest by my computer!

A little noisy, like a Dustbuster on wheels, it slowly trundles all over the house with no guidence. I set it loose whenever I go shopping or go to out to dinner.

Comment:
My apartment is not ideal for the Roomba: tile mixed with carpet, multiple rugs, plently of standing items on the floor that it gets tangled up with... But it does clean decently. My recommendation is that if your dwelling is completely flat without changes in flooring or items laying around, then it would work great. I still find I need to pull out the upright to get a full clean, though it has allowed me to space out how often I do it. If you have an extra $400+ laying around then buy it, otherwise spend the 30-45 minutes a week and do it with a traditional type.
