About This Brand

Hoover introduced its first vacuum in 1907 and has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in America. More recently, Hoover was bought from Whirlpool by TTI Floor Care, the owners of Dirt Devil. Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights at mass-market retailers, with models ranging from as little as $50 to $300. It also makes hand and stick vacuums, canister models (about $80 to $300), deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper, though the company is best known for its uprights.

I have had three of them and used them every other day. Liked the first one except that because the foot is inflexible there were areas where there is a change in elevation (like area rug and hardwood floor border) that it didn't pickup debris well at all. Motorized brush and battery gave out in a year. The motorized brush gave out in 6 months for the second one then for the third one it lasted 4 months. That was it for me. Can't fix it when the motorized part goes. Won't buy it again. When working it did well picking up cat hair and scattered kitty litter. The last one now resides in the garage.

I am on my 3rd one, love the vac for quick pick ups on daily basis but cannot replace regular corded vacuum. I am on my third because after about a year the electronics that run the beater bar fail and with out that you aren't really getting good cleaning. I recommend this to others but know that after a year you will need to buy another.

Comment:
This product does is very good overall; however, I had two breakdowns within the first year. The rotating brush just quit rotating. You must go to a service center to fix which is a pain. It is good for its size on carpet/pet hair and the occasional sweep up, but you still need the regular vacuum to do a good job.
