About This Brand

Hoover introduced its first vacuum in 1907 and has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in America. More recently, Hoover was bought from Whirlpool by TTI Floor Care, the owners of Dirt Devil. Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights at mass-market retailers, with models ranging from as little as $50 to $300. It also makes hand and stick vacuums, canister models (about $80 to $300), deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper, though the company is best known for its uprights.

Comment:
I have had this vacuum for over a year, still works great. I am able to clean my kitchen/dining area, entry hall, bathrooms and cat area in one charge (about 20 min.) It cleans fine dust and dirt up so well, that when I mop the floors, my water is barely discolored. It does a great job on cat fur and litter. I also use it for a quick clean of my carpets to get surface dirt up/spills. The bottom of the dirt canister drops open for easy disposal, but you will need to thoroughly clean it out occasionally and it can be messy due to the fine dirt. (I wear gloves.) Also, due to the design, it can tip over backwards easily if bumped. Overall, a great product.

Comment:
At first I loved it. Then I realized that almost every time I moved the vacuum forward it left a small pile of dirt behind. (Our floors are very clean so I did not notice this at first)

Every time I pick it up to move it onto carpet, or just push it onto carpet, it leaves a small pile of dirt.

Comment:
Having a tried a number of cordless stick vacuums, this one has been the best yet. Good suction and far better battery life than other models. The only stick vac I still use.
