This is the second Shark vacuum I bught based on CR's recommendation. Both of them stopped working after abut four months. I had not registered the first one so manufacturer refused to honor the warranty. I registered the second one but manufacturer said they would sell one to me for $43.56 and considering I bought my vacuum for $50.87 practically they were not honoring their warranty. For the last 35 years I have bought all of my appliances and electronics based on the CR's recommendation and they all have been great but, this does not deserve top rating from CR. Yes, it works well but does not last more than four months.

Comment:
The longest run time this has achieved is 7 minutes after doing the factory-instructed charge-discharge cycle several times. I'm disappointed that it doesn't produce the 17 to 19 minutes of run time indicated in the review. Not certain but I may still take it back because of the short run time plus the need to remove it from its charger base after 16 hours recharging. Instructions with the vacuum indicate it is fully charged after 6 hours so there is a discrepancy in the instructions between those on this website and those that came w/ the vacuum.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Long Hair Ruins This Vac

Comment:
I've owned this vac for about 3 yrs. It worked superbly for about 2 of them. It recharges fairly quickly. This tiny thing had awesome suction; it DID pick up my cat's hairs very well; however, I have LONG hair and it caused the ruination of my little vac. After awhile, the brush part was useless, even though I cleaned it after almost every use. If you have hair that you're losing on a regular basis, I wouldn't recommend. If your hair is healthy, stays put and doesn't end up on the floor whenever you blink an eye, I highly recommend. This is one time that baldness is a definite plus. I would have liked a warning sign, too, whenever the battery was getting low.
