About - Dyson DC24 Ball Multi Floor
At only 12 pounds, this bagless upright vacuum cleaner is among the lightest-weight models. It uses HEPA filtration, which provides the highest level of filtration in vacuum cleaners by blocking fine particles. However, some non-HEPA models also perform well on emissions. Dyson's advertising focuses on innovative design and technology, and the company has quickly captured a competitive share of the U.S. vacuum cleaner market. This model has a full-bin indicator to alert you when it's time to empty the dustbin, and a switch to turn off the rotating brush when cleaning uncarpeted floors. It does not have an easy on/off switch or a manual pile-adjustment feature to raise and lower the machine for different carpet heights. It has a short, 20-foot,non-retractable cord and lacks suction control, a feature some prefer when cleaning upholstery and curtains.
About This Brand

Colorful styling, innovative features, and a splashy advertising campaign featuring its namesake owner and designer have helped Dyson quickly become a major player in the U.S. Ranging in price from about $300 to $600, Dyson vacuums have helped increase the average price paid for uprights. Canisters have joined that lineup. Hand vacs are also part of the mix. The brand is available nationwide through major mass merchants such as Target, Best Buy, and Sears.

Comment:
There is a little screw that keeps popping out, because it screws into plastic - and the plastic housing wears down over time. To replace plastic housing - $150. This sweeper is a lot like a Jaguar - it looks spiffy - but if you do buy - be sure and consider the extended warranty a part of the purchase price - because you are going to need it. We have had it in the repair shop four times in the last six months.

Comment:
Just purchased a Dyson and am finding the instructions for assembly and use lacking in clarity. Pictures are not specific and the written instructions assume #2 click and #3 click pictures worked. This machine may be an engineering miracle, but their instructions are a communications nightmare!

Comment:
Perhaps the nicest vacuum I have ever owned. Ease of use is unparalleled, the ball technology is incredible. My only gripe is the tools....then again, I rarely use the tools.

Great vacuum for all occasions!!!
08/10/2009
Strength
Lightweight, great suction, easy to clean, ball technology is awesome, sturdy, easy to store and doesn't blow dirt around on hardwood or tile floors
Weakness
Only thing I can complain about is I wish it had a longer cord, but that has been the case with every vacuum I have ever owned. We always wind up putting an extension cord on them. Easy fix!
We have used almost every kid of sweeper there is: Kirby, Sharky, Hoover, Filter Queen, and Bissel, We have never had a vacuum that does as good a job as our Dyson DC24. I had always heard they were the best and they are. You can transfer from carpet to hardwood to tile and it doesn't loose suction or blow dirt around. It is quiet compared to other vacuums and you can have different lengths of carpet and it will clean them with out sucking them up into the sweeper head. If it happens to catch a corner and pull it up, it has an automatic shut off so the roller doesn't get all tangled up and burn up the motor. You can simply restart the roller by pushing the reset button on the side. It cleans very easily. Some people have said that the canister that holds the dirt is too small, but I have to disagree. We had to empty regualarly the first few times we used it, but that was because it was picking up all the dirt my old vacuums couldn't get. Now we just empty it each time we use it to completely sweep (carpet, hardwood, and tile) our 2400 sq ft. home. My wife loves this thing and keeps saying it over an over.

Dyson DC24 vacumn
07/11/2009
Strength
lightweight, and awesome suction. Pulled out the mounds of cat hair on carpet due to being without a vacumn for 1.5 months.
Weakness
Would like it to go lower on floor so I can vacumn all the way under the bed.
Love this vacuum. Can carry it up and down the stairs with one hand. The suction is awesome. I have allergies to dust. This eliminates the need for a special bag vacuum. Recently was given a used oriental rug. DC24 brought back the carpet to life. Glad I agreed to take the rug :)

For the price. The size, compactness and suction is amazing on this product. I would highly recommend it to people who live in apartments with little to no storage this fits into such small spaces. It is great!
