Comment:
I purchased this vacuum when my other pet vac died. I chose this model based on the high reviews but it didn't live up to any of them. The power cord is short and seems to be in an inconvenient location. The tools and attachments work fine and honestly, that is the ONLY thing I use this vacumm for. It is very unstable and the slightest tug will cause it to fall over. This vacuum does not pick up anything on my carpets whatsoever no matter how many times I go over it. I HATE THIS VACUUM CLEANER.

i hated this fromt he first and shoudl ahve taekn it back but i kept giving it another shot. tips over easily. attachments fall off. the WORST thing is emptying the canister, dirt and dust gets EVERYWHERE. Pet hair gets trapped at the top in the filter so you have to take it all apart everytime to empty it and use your hands to pull it off. I've called Eureeka and I got a lecture on bagless vacuum canisters. the step on/off switch is horrible design too. the hose is too short to be useful for anything besides that the vacuum falls over everytime you use the hose.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I bought a SuctionSeal (AS1104A) in October. Three months later, the drive for the brush (not the belt) busted. I called Eureka and they sent me an entirely new vacuum (ASM1105), because it was an apparent known issue where the shaft that drives the pulley was made of plastic, and they replaced it with one made of metal (which is funny because they look the same to me). It's April now, and while I haven't had a repeat with the brush drive (yet), but I have noticed that the part that holds the vacuum upright when not being used isn't very strong (enough of an accidental tilt, and the top will break away).

For a HEPA vac, I would not recommend it to those with allergies. Get something with actual sealed suction.
