About - Hoover WindTunnel Pet Rewind UH70210
This 19-pound Hoover bagless upright comes with HEPA filtration to reduce dust emissions and, as the name suggests, is designed with pet owners in mind. The bagless upright has an easy-to-reach on/off switch and a brush on/off switch, which helps keep dirt from scattering as you transition from carpets to bare floors. It also folds for storage--a rare feature in an upright.
About This Brand

Hoover introduced its first vacuum in 1907 and has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in America. More recently, Hoover was bought from Whirlpool by TTI Floor Care, the owners of Dirt Devil. Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights at mass-market retailers, with models ranging from as little as $50 to $300. It also makes hand and stick vacuums, canister models (about $80 to $300), deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper, though the company is best known for its uprights.

Comment:
Had an top of the line Kenmore canister for years which worked fine but finally gave up the ghost. After first use was surprised at how much dirt my older vacuum had left in the rug which the Pet Rewind vacuum picked up. I have a Siberian Husky which sheds like crazy twice a year. With the power attachment was able to finally get ALL her hair off my sofa's and chair. Hairs from both her outer coat (coarser) and inner coat (very fine). I am currently very pleased with this model. Haven't owned long enough to comment on reliability.

Comment:
I've had a Dyson for the last 4 years, my it had been a housewarming gift from my mother when I bought my house. It did a great job at first... but, over the years, it's effectiveness dwindled. I will admit, my Dyson got a LOT of use due to my 2 dogs... they're brother & sister pair; Husky/Sheppard/Lab mix. Archie sheds FAR more than Lilly does... when he's in shed mode he can sneeze and his undercoat flies into the air, I can easily spend an hour a day brushing him....... and his coat doesn't stop shedding. Because of his excessive hair shedding... it put a lot of wear and tear on my Dyson. My Dyson finally died on me 2 days ago. As soon as it died, I started the hunt for a replacement that could handle the amount of shed I have to manage. The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Pet Rewind got very good reviews everywhere that I looked. My main points I was needed were:

1) Affordable... I'm not wealthy, but know I have to spend more for quality, so I wanted to keep the cost between $100-$150
2) Bag less... the amount of hair that I vacuum up required me to dump my Dyson canister up to 20 times to vacuum my 945sq ft house. If I had to use bags, I'd spend a fortune on them.
3) SUCTION / POWER... nothing is harder than getting dog hair out of short fiber carpets... the Dyson always left some behind no matter how many passes I made OR how slow I made each pass.

This vacuum seemed/claimed to meet all 3 of these. SO, I took a chance, and ordered it. When I got home from work today, it was at my door. It assembled VERY quickly and VERY easily. I plugged it in and gave it a test run. O...M...G... this vacuum BLEW my mind!!! It was so freakishly strong, it had NO problems sucking up the hair in my carpets. I've never vacuumed my house with such ease AND satisfaction! The amount of hair it picked up was amazing, and, it didn't seem to leave ANY hair behind still in the carpet. While I have only used it the one time... here's my Pro/Con opinion...

PROs:
1) Suction...CRAZY strong, if I lived in a cartoon - this thing would suck up the carpet INTO the vacuum
2) Canister... I only had to dump the Hoover canister 7 times... though the canister appears smaller than the Dyson canister, I think the Hoover compacts everything in the canister better.
3) Power button... right at the top by the hand grip, easy on and off
4) Handle Release... foot pedal on the BACK of the vacuum that stands out
5) Access... HOLY COW, this thing can get such a low profile while still keeping the rotating brushes flat (I was able to vacuum under my coffee table without moving it for the first time EVER
6) Retractable power cord... more need not be said...
7) Handle... has a lever that allows the handle to fold back against the rear of the vacuum, perfect for closet storage.
8) Price... being my mother paid $500 for the Dyson, $120+free shipping via Amazon is a BARGAIN!!!

Now, as much as I love this Hoover - there are a few things that kind of make me twitch... BUT... to have the Pros, it's an acceptable trade off.

CONs:
1) Hose... it is short. Probably only about half the length of what the Dyson had. BUT, it does have 2 long attachments to go on the hose which makes the length much better.
2) Retracting the cord... the lever to retract the cord is a wee difficult to use. Maybe mine is just a fluke... I really had to push down on the lever to get the cord to retract all the way.
3) Opening the canister... not as easy as with the Dyson that had a pull lever - the Hoover has a push slide. That will take a little getting used to, but, the suction opening of the canister provides a place for leverage to use the push slide... so, it's do-able.

Over all, I give this a five star rating... I couldn't be any happier with it. I jokingly called my mom and sister and told them I'm taking back every ones Christmas gifts and buying you one of these vacuums. If you have an pet that sheds LIKE CRAZY... this is the vacuum you need... you won't regret it.

Comment:
Okay, folks - So far, it does a nice job picking up dirt and pet hair and the thing has great suction. Love the pet hair/stairs tool. Note that it uses the suction to 'power' it on. One of the recommendations from another bag-less vac's is that you need to keep it clean - clean out the canister after every use and you really shouldn't have any suction issues. I see that there is a lot of negative reviews from CR, but this one has a 4-star review from a top internet retailer (can's say who they are; so far, they have 416 reviews). If anything changes, I will give an updated review. Happy shopping!
