Comment:
I use the vacuum primarily on carpet and hardwood floors, occasionally using the pet tool on some furniture. For these purposes it really does a good job. Rearranging the hose after using the tool(s) can be cumbersome. The HEPA filtration is a huge plus - will never have another vacuum without this feature. The vacuum tends toward heavy if you have to move it up and down stairs. However, very few (if any) powerful, efficient upright vacuums can be considered light weight..

Comment:
I bought this vacuum based on the CR rating and because Kenmore has always been reliable for me. However, this vacuum must have been designed and tested by large, muscular men rather than middle-aged ladies such as myself! The front is very wide which makes it difficult to maneuver around furniture. It is heavy, and there is no way to lift it at the fulcrum and distribute the weight. It requires a lot of strength to expand the hose when using the attachments. Works great on large, empty spaces, such as where I tested it at the store. But I have furniture. Vacuuming has become such a sweaty ordeal, that I must admit I rarely do it any more.
