I'm very surprised at the reviews on this page. I LOVE this Hoover. I can't believe how well it picks every little thing up and it's great on my back, since it's so light. Have a quick job to do; just gr'ab the little canister. It's sucking is great, too! We have two cats and a dog, so plenty of hair to suck up. And we have a boy who drops all sorts of junk on the floor and it it gets it, too. Maybe the other people got a lemon; that can happen with anything. My use of it has been great; I've used many other types of vacuums and this is by far the best with the lightest weight.

I agree 100% with review NOT such a great vac or canister!! written by a housekeeper by business. She would know! I owned this vacuum for about 2 years now. My old vacuum was very heavy to push (although it cleaned fantastic-Eureka Boss-10 years old-Also a consumer report purchase.), and I was looking for something a bit easier to use for my mom who babysat and my 5 year old who begged to vacuum himself, but couldn't push it. This vacuum was my dream come true according to consumer reports. HERE ARE SOME PROS - easy to push. Night and day difference from my old vacuum, my son can even do it. I have found it nice to have the high/low switch to change from carpet to tile(still scatters crumbs on tile, but marginally acceptable) It seems to work best on my large low pile area rug! It doesn't suck up the edges/corners. I like the check bag light (bag full), that's my favorite thing about it. And the bag change is easy. I like how the hole closes when you remove it. NOW THE CONS #1. LEAVES BEHIND pet hair/human hair/carpet pieces unless you run OVER AND OVER the same spot! WHAT IS IT LEAVING BEHIND THAT I DON'T SEE!?!? #2. DOES NOT CLEAN THE EDGES! Now it would be nice to have on board tools to get those edges! Wait, there are none! #3.THAT FUNKY SMELL! Someone wrote it's hair trapped in the motor. Well that make sense, because it gets worse the longer you run it! Then my entire house stinks! If I'm having someone come over, I try to vacuum the least necessary so the motor doesn't heat up and STINK up the house. Yes, I have pets! It must be pet hair, it smells like stinky dog. YUCK. I have even tried spraying Lysol on the vacuum or on the carpet and vacuuming right away. Didn't work. #4 HAVE TO BUY BAGS ONLINE. I was buying my bags at best buy, no longer, I have to order them online. $$$. If I run out, I'm vacuumless. #5 THE CANISTER (separate) falls against my body while vacuuming and blocks the air intake. Also the attachment never stays on at the end. It keeps falling off while you're in the middle of cleaning something. Doesn't store well, even thought it's slender. All the tubing and cord. (the cord is long enough for the stairs which is a plus) Overall I want my Eureka Boss back. My son (now 6) can use this but occasionally I would like to clean his room with a stronger vacuum cleaner. The Eureka would pull flattened fibers of carpet straight up, so I know it was clean. This doesn't even come close. I have to question consumer reports. I wonder if there are different models. I bought mine at Walmart site to store and saved some money. But it absolutely does not stand up to the ratings. Especially my most important rating...CARPET CLEANING! POOR!
