Comment:
I mostly use on carpets and rugs. I bought it because it has a retractable power cord, is bagless, and reasonably lightweight. There are several things not mentioned in the CR review. The body only partially reclines making vacuuming under the coffee table and dining table more difficult and time consuming. It comes with one wand instead of two. The hose is almost impossible to extend and requires continued muscle power to keep it extended. Basically, if you want to use the hose to reach an area, you need someone to hold the vacuum while you pull with all your might to extend the hose. All this effort makes the stretch hose unusable. The usable space in the dirt container is small. I empty it before it reaches the full line and I have to pull the carpet fuzz out with my fingers. I am really disappointed in the CR review.

Comment:
Does an okay job on the carpet but nothing to rave about. The only thing powerful about it is that the brush spins fast and leaves a brush trail on the carpet. Clogs up and loses suction often. Spent about an hour doing a thorough cleaning of the vacuum, but it clogged up again just a few weeks later. No off/on switch to go from carpet to hard flooring - brush spins constantly. Scatters cat litter and cat food instead of picking it up on hard surfaces. Works best when new but it's downhill from there. I replaced it with a bagged model recommended by CR and what a welcome difference!

Comment:
This vacuum cleaner has excellent suction, but it is poorly made. The cord is way too short, and the on/off switch is not on the handle. The foot pedal snapped in half the second time I used it, so I returned it.
