The hose is much too short and stiff to use with attachments. It's fine cleaning floors but useless with the extensions.

Comment:
After much research I thought I had found the perfect vacuum and I did....for about 9 months. All the comments about the hose being too short are true which makes the vacuum good for ONLY vacuuming floors.
The agitator brush also started shedding (like another reviewer mentioned) so I called Sears for help. They did replace the brush at no cost BUT they sent the wrong size. What am I supposed to do now?
I WILL NOT be buying anymore Kenmore vacuum cleaners in the future. Sad because I have always been a fan of Kenmore appliances.

Comment:
The exhaust port is located in such a position that when vacuuming hard-surface floors, the air exiting the vacuum cleaner agitates any debris on the floor (in our case, fluffy dog hair) and makes it air-borne. We have to vacuum the bare floors first with a canister vacuum and then use the new Kenmore Elite on carpeted floors only. The unit is poorly designed and tested. When the unit is in handle release mode, it positions the exhaust port over the floor area behind the cleaner and stirs up anything on the floor. The exhaust should be more defused and more to either side of the unit. The unit is NOT for homes with hard-surface flooring.
