Comment:
We are a family of 5 with a golden retriever. We have a mixture of hardwoods flooring and longer shag carpeting. This vacuum sucks is way across the carpet... and cleans very well. Our old shag has left again! The pet tool is pretty cool too. The suction spins the brushes, so you have to let it regain is spin periodically, but it's pretty darn good too. Night and day better than our last machine. Definitely would buy again.

Comment:
Only con is that the suction hose is too stiff and not long enough and often have to pick up the whole unit to accomplish cleaning tasks. I do not think the machine is that heavy, however my in shape 5'2 wife hates luggin it upstairs. She does not complain about how well it cleans though. It is by far the best vacuum I have owned and I am not sure who complains about it sucking too much, probably should have carpet guys come reinstall carpet properly. We will see how long it holds up but seems very sturdy and well made.

Comment:
Vacuum is heavy, but worked fine until I changed the bag for the first time. Bag compartment door would not latch. Rather than risk forcing the door and possibly breaking it, I took it to Sears for repair. Sears said to take it to UPS who would ship it from Idaho to Sears Repair in TN for me. I did. It has been gone a month. They called today to get authorization for repairs of nearly $150. The vacuum is only a few weeks old. I asked about warranty. They cannot locate the warranty. They gave me a number to phone about the warranty. The Warranty Protection Department found the record and said she would call the service department. Call was never made. If I want the vacuum back, I have to pay a $50 diagnostic fee and the vacuum will be returned unrepaired, or pay the cost of repair. This vacuum is under warranty, and it should be repaired for free. One department at Sears apparently can't communicate to the other. Do not do business with Sears, not for their vacuums!
